International Student Achievement Award to Isaac Kam

Isaac Kam, an international student from Hong Kong and Grand View University Political Science senior and sports scholarship recipient, has been selected as an honoree of the International Student Achievement Award.

The 2022 International Student Achievement Award recognizes students who have exhibited exemplary contributions furthering international understanding. This could consist of academic, athletic, culture, religion, politics, or other extra-curricular campus activities and/or community involvement in school or civic group programs or service projects or political or religious groups.

The Award was signed by Ako Abdul-Samad, Iowa State Representative, and Suresh Reddy, Johnston City Councilor, and presented by Ako Abdul-Samad, Iowa State Representative, Sifu Aaron Giddings, Robert Sanda, Black Sash Instructor of Shadow Fist Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

The Award Ceremony was held at the Iowa Chinese New Year Celebration on January 21 at Grand View in the Student Center. The Chinese Association of Iowa has hosted the annual Iowa Chinese New Year Celebration and Iowa Chinese Achievement Awards Ceremony at Grand View University since 2018.

Isaac Kam also received the Certificate of Achievement of Completing 2022 Presidential Youth Leadership Initiative Spring Program signed by Frank Cownie, City of Des Moines Mayor.
