Academic Learning & Teaching (ALT)

The theory and practice of learning comes together in the Academic Learning and Teaching (ALT) Center. Our goal is to help all students become more independent and successful lifelong learners by providing a wide range of services tailored to each student's needs. The ALT Center was created specifically to support Grand View's diverse student body.

Every single student is able to take advantage of ALT. Our faculty work directly with professors and other faculty to ensure the best possible support for every student.

ALT Services

Academic support in areas such as time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies.
Math instruction and help for students in first year, sophomore, and select upper-level math courses.
Peer tutoring in a wide variety of subjects, including biology, chemistry, nursing, and business.
Writing center with workshops, writing resources, and support for English language learners.
