Theatre Arts
If you have an interest in theatre but don't necessarily want to major in the area, there are many ways to get involved! See below for a list of options at Grand View University.
Opportunity to Get Involved |
Description |
Audition for Productions |
Auditions for roles are open to all Grand View students. We mount four productions each year, so we encourage all students to become involved! Students can also receive college credit for involvement in productions. |
Get Involved Backstage |
There are many opportunities to work “behind the scenes” on productions. If you like building, painting, property making, sewing or working with lighting, you can join the production team for a show! Also, there are opportunities to become involved as a stage manager or member of the show run crew. Students can receive college credit for involvement in productions.

Join the Honorary Theatre Society, Alpha Psi Omega |
Anyone interested in theatre can attend meetings with this exciting student group in early fall and learn what is required to join. Alpha Psi Omega was awarded Club of the Year 2008 for its outstanding service and outreach in the community. They produce student directed work, organize performances and fundraisers, and volunteer in the community. This group is the backbone of the Theatre Department.

Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival |
All students who have been involved in theatre productions are eligible to join us on our yearly trip to attend the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival conference in January where there are engaging workshops to attend, plays to get involved with, and plays to see!

Work Study |
There are work study jobs for students in the theatre department - work in the shop or the box office and get paid! These positions are open to students from any major. |
