Undergraduate Enrollment in Graduate Courses

Through Grand View University’s undergraduate enrollment in graduate courses program, you will be able to take graduate level courses while completing your baccalaureate degree. All qualified students are able to enroll in graduate courses at the undergraduate tuition rate. This opportunity is designed for a variety of students and majors.

An undergraduate student who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree at Grand View University may receive graduate credit for graduate courses at the 500 level if the student meets all of the following conditions. Student must:

  • Have a 3.0 GPA or better and complete 90 semester hours of credit.
  • Obtain the approval of the Department Chair/Program Coordinator and student’s advisor via signature on the “Change of Registration” form.
  • Students may enroll and count up to six credit hours of graduate-coursework toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Availability of undergraduate enrollment in graduate courses courses varies by degree program. Connect with your advisor or the chair of the graduate program to learn more.

Grades from coursework will count in both the undergraduate and graduate GPA.

Graduate credit can apply toward upper division credit requirements for the undergraduate degree and major. This course credit can also be applied to the completion of one of GVU’s master degree programs.

Accelerated Undergraduate and Graduate degree programs

Students interested in one of the accelerated graduate programs listed below will need to fill out additional materials and be accepted into the specific program.

  • Athletic Training Accelerated Program (3+2): Students accepted and enrolled into the Kinesiology Department’s Pre-Athletic Training concentration may count up to 24 credit hours of Master of Science in Athletic Training graduate-coursework toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  • Education Accelerated Program (4+1): Students accepted and enrolled into the Education Department’s Master’s Pathway program may count up to 15 credit hours of Master in Education graduate coursework towards both their undergraduate and graduate degrees.
  • Social Work Accelerated Program (3+2): Students accepted and enrolled into the Social Work 3+2 program may count up to 15 credit hours of Master of Social Work graduate-coursework toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees.
