Viking Alumni Referral Scholarship
Students who attend Grand View University and were referred by an alumnus will receive the Alumni Referral Scholarship, which provides $1,000 per year for four years ($4,000 in total). The scholarship is only available to incoming students and is renewable for up to four years.
The deadline for 2025 high school graduates and transfer students entering Grand View in Fall 2025 is December 1, 2024 although we do encourage you to nominate high school freshman, sophomores and juniors now!
Students whose parent(s) graduated from Grand View will not be eligible for this award as they will receive the Alumni Child Award worth $1,000 per year ($4,000 in total).

| What students are eligible? |

Any high school or transfer student is eligible if the referral form is submitted by December 1 of their senior year of high school or prior to the fall term of enrollment for transfer students. Any student who is referred by alumni and then enrolls at GVU as an undergraduate full-time day student will receive the award.

| Will the student be notified that I referred them? |
|
The student will be notified via email that you referred them. They will also receive an invitation to visit campus and other University admissions materials.

| Who can refer students? |
|
Any non-parent alumnus who graduated from Grand View with an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree can refer a student to GVU.

| Can children of alumni receive the scholarship? |
|
Children of alumni parents (those whose parent(s) attended GVU) will not be eligible for this award as they will receive a $1,000 per year Alumni Child Scholarship.

| Are students eligible if they have already applied to Grand View? |
|
Yes, if the referral form is submitted by December 1 of their senior year of high school or prior to the fall term of enrollment for transfer students.

| Are transfer students eligible? |
|
Yes, if the referral is submitted by December 1, prior to the fall term of their enrollment.
Any student who previously attended GVU is not eligible.

| Can a student be referred by multiple alumni? |
|
Each student is only eligible to receive the Alumni Referral Scholarship once. However, each alumnus may refer an unlimited amount of unique students.
