Theatre Arts Scholarship Auditions
11/10/24 2:30 PM - 11/10/24 03:30 PM
Location: Viking Theatre
First-year and transfer students who have applied and been accepted to Grand View are invited to interview/audition for scholarships offered by the Theatre Arts Department. Theatre Scholarship interviews start at 2:30 p.m. in the Viking Theatre. If you are considering participation in theatre, you can interview with Kristin Larson for scholarship amounts up to $1,000 per year.
The Interview: We want to learn more about you as a person, and hear about your interest and experience in theatre. Then, we will move to more specific questions about your particular talents and area of focus.
Design/Technical/Production: You are encouraged to bring a resume listing your experience in theatre and any photos from productions in which your design and technical contributions were showcased. This may be a physical portfolio, or an online collection shared on your laptop. You will have the opportunity to narrate highlights of your experiences and these visual aids are helpful but not required.
Performance: Prepare a monologue, no longer than 90 seconds, that showcases your talent and be prepared to perform it. You are also encouraged to bring a resume listing your experience. There may also be time to share photo highlights from your roles played, so you are welcome to bring a selection in a physical portfolio or an online collection shown on your laptop.
If you have talents in both performance and production, be prepared to share both elements within our 15 minutes together.
