2024 Ravenholt Speaker: Dr. Michael Wiederman

Dr. Michael Wiederman will serve as the 2024 Ravenholt Speaker. The events listed below will take place on Tuesday, August 20 in the Speed Lyceum, Student Center.

2:30 - 4:00 p.m. - Workshop by Ravenholt Speaker, Dr. Michael Widerman, “Promoting Hygge, Flourishing, and Wellbeing for the Students We Serve”

Michael Wiederman, Ph.D., earned a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical-community psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint and master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University. He was a full-time psychology professor for 20 years, during which he wrote more than 250 published articles, book chapters, and books, and was a frequent expert contributor to the website Ask the Psychologist.

In 2015 he transitioned to providing professional development as the inaugural Director of Faculty Development at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. From 2020-2022, he served as the inaugural Director of Leadership and Professional Development in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, continuing to evolve programs and services to promote professional development for individuals and teams.
