Grand View Announces GV Next: Free Tuition for Eligible High School Students
October 2, 2023
Grand View University is excited to announce GV Next: Making College Possible. Launched in early 2023, the GV Next program is for 2024 high school graduates and covers the full cost of tuition for eligible, Iowa students. There is no requirement to live on campus if students qualify for a housing exemption, so students can choose to live at home while attending Grand View.
To be eligible for GV Next, students must:
- Be a high school student (class of 2024), resident of Iowa and admitted to Grand View University
- Be eligible for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and file by June 30, 2024
- Qualify for the maximum Federal Pell Grant or have a parent Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $60,000 or less for 2022
- Enroll at Grand View as a first-time student
- Stay in good academic standing while enrolled as a full-time day student
Debbie Barger, Vice President for Enrollment Management, says “Grand View University is excited to announce its GV Next scholarship program, designed to provide free tuition to Iowa’s families with the greatest financial need. The program began as a pilot in April 2023 in partnership with select area high schools and we are pleased to now offer it to all Iowa students who qualify.”
GV Next utilizes federal and state funds along with Grand View scholarships and grants to cover the cost of tuition for eligible students. This program does not cover books, supplies, or fees and, in the event a student elects to live on campus, housing and meal plan costs are not covered. Students will continue to receive the GV next tuition benefit as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements based on their FAFSA for each year they are an undergraduate student at Grand View. “It is Grand View’s historic mission to provide affordable access to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. The GV Next initiative helps make the dream of attending college a reality and we are thrilled to expand this program statewide,” says Grand View’s President Dr. Rachelle Keck.
