GV Next: Free Tuition for Transfer Students
January 8, 2024
Grand View is excited to announce GV Next: Making College Possible for transfer students. Launched in early 2023 for high school graduates, the GV Next program covers the full cost of tuition for eligible, Iowa students. There is no requirement to live on campus if students qualify for a housing exemption.
To be eligible for GV Next, students must:
- Be an Iowa resident enrolling as a full-time day student, earning their first bachelor’s degree beginning in spring 2024 and after.
- Be eligible for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and file by the June 30 deadline for the filing year.
- Stay in good academic standing while enrolled as a full-time day student.
Debbie Barger, Vice President for Enrollment Management, says “Grand View University is excited to announce its GV Next scholarship program for transfer students, designed to provide free tuition to Iowa’s families with the greatest financial need. The program began as a pilot in April 2023 in partnership with select area high schools and we are pleased to now offer it to all Iowa students who qualify."
GV Next uses federal and state funds along with Grand View scholarships and grants to cover the cost of tuition. If a student chooses to live on campus, they will be responsible for the cost of housing and a meal plan. In addition, students will also be responsible for fees and books/supplies needed for courses. Students will continue to receive the full tuition benefit as long as they meet the requirements based on the results of their FAFSA for each year they are at Grand View.
