2023 Diverse Voices Book Prize Award Winner: Brenda W. Clough

Grand View University, in conjunction with the Grand View English Department, is pleased to announce the winner of the 2023 Diverse Voices Book Prize Award.
Brenda W. Clough’s riveting novel, A Door in His Head, gives a unique perspective on culture and history that truly encapsulates the idea of diversity in literature. Brenda W. Clough has lived across the world, including Laos, the Philippines, and Europe. She now resides in Oregon, where she has written and published many novels, including A Door in His Head.
A Door in His Head tells the story of Stephen See, a man struggling with trauma after the end of World War II as he navigates his new life in the United States. This year’s Book Prize editor is Rebecca Gilseth. Rebecca is student at Grand View finishing up her junior year and working to complete her degree in English.
On April 12, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 p.m in the Speed Lyceum, all are welcome to join as Clough reads a section of her work and signs copies for attendees. The book will also be available for purchase in Grand View University’s Bookstore.
A Door in His Head will be released online on May 15th, 2023 through Ingram publishing.
