Brigid Ernst Named Southeast Polk School Board President

Brigid Ernst, Student Success Program Director at Grand View, has recently achieved two significant milestones in her professional journey. At the November 8th Southeast Polk Community School District Board meeting, Brigid was named President of the Board of Directors for the upcoming year. In her new role, Brigid will lead a team dedicated to the service of the Southeast Polk community, with a focus on the district’s growth, success, and ongoing development.
“It is an honor and privilege to be chosen by my peers to lead our board in service to our Southeast Polk community,” said Brigid Ernst after accepting the position. “I am looking forward to fulfilling the responsibilities of this coming year.”
As part of the meeting, Brigid’s first order of business was swearing in Chad Crabb as the new Board Vice President, ensuring a smooth transition into the upcoming term.
Brigid's commitment to education and board leadership was further highlighted when she received the Individual Award of Achievement at the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) Convention. This prestigious award is presented to individuals who demonstrate a commitment to ongoing education, earning a minimum of 15 hours of participation in professional development activities throughout the year. Brigid’s efforts to continuously improve her knowledge and leadership in education have made a significant impact on the Southeast Polk School District and beyond.
In addition to her individual recognition, Brigid’s leadership also contributed to the Southeast Polk School Board earning the Team Achievement Award. This annual award recognizes boards whose members collectively demonstrate excellence by earning Individual Awards of Achievement and establishing policies that support board development. It’s a testament to the collaborative effort and dedication of the entire Southeast Polk School Board.
