Connie Welcher Named 2025 Commencement Student Speaker

Grand View is excited to announce Connie Welcher as the student speaker for 2025 Commencement. Connie will graduate with a double major in Social Work and Political Science, along with minors in Sociology and Honors. Originally from Monterey, California, Connie has made a powerful impact across campus.

She currently serves as Vice President of Clubs & Organizations on the Viking Council and President of the Nontraditional Students Alliance, while also actively contributing to the Women’s Empowerment Club, Social Work Club, and Black Student Union.

Connie will begin her Master of Social Work at Grand View this fall and plans to pursue a career in public administration and policy, with aspirations to hold an elected office in the future.

The Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 4, 2025, at Wells Fargo Arena. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm and doors will open at 1:30 pm for guests.
