December 16, 2024
Grand View University is excited to announce a new undergraduate program, Neuroscience, beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Grand View’s online Neuroscience program will give students the knowledge and skills to tackle complex questions about brain function and behavior. From exploring neural mechanisms to developing new therapies, this program prepares students for impactful roles in research, healthcare, and beyond.
This addition to Grand View University’s academic offerings responds to the growing demand for professionals with expertise in neuroscience, a field that is rapidly advancing in both medical and scientific sectors. The new major combines courses in biology, psychology, and chemistry, providing students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in the study of the brain and nervous system.
When asked about the new program in Neuroscience, the Provost, Dr. Patty Williams shared, "We are excited to launch an interdisciplinary program in Neuroscience, bringing together experts in the disciplines of biology, chemistry, and psychology. Our program is designed to help students develop content knowledge, foster critical thinking and data analysis, and provide opportunities for research, all to help launch a career in neuroscience or successfully embark on graduate or medical school aspirations.”
The Neuroscience major will feature a curriculum designed to prepare students for advanced studies and careers in neuroscience, psychology, and health sciences. Key aspects of the program include opportunities for laboratory research, internships in health care settings, and involvement in faculty-led projects related to neuroscience.
