Grand View Announces New Vice President for Administration and Finance

Grand View University is pleased to announce that Peyton Deterding has been named Vice President for Administration and Finance. “We are thrilled to welcome Peyton to Grand View. He brings more than two decades of leadership in university administration, fiscal oversight and facilities management.” said Dr. Rachelle Keck, Grand View President. “We look forward to Peyton playing a prominent role in the implementation of our bold new strategic plan.”

Deterding has served as the Director of Athletics at Southeastern Community College since 2021, where he oversaw athletic operations and facilities for 14 sports and 200 student athletes. He was also involved in the planning and design of new athletic offices and the student recreation center.

Prior to Southeastern, Deterding served as Director of Athletics at the University of Illinois, Springfield, from 2016 to 2019, and as Associate Athletic Director at Illinois State University from 2007 to 2019.

He has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, a master’s degree in exercise and sport science from the University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse, and is currently pursuing his master of business administration degree, with an accounting emphasis, from Northwest Missouri State.

Deterding will begin his new role on November 6, 2023.
