Grand View University Announces Dr. Patty Williams as Provost

Grand View University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Patty Williams as Grand View University’s next Provost. She will assume her new role July 1, 2024. She replaces Dr. Carl Moses, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.
Dr. Williams joined Grand View in 2002 as the chair of the business department. She was promoted to Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies in 2011 and then Vice Provost for Academic Affairs in 2018.
President Rachelle Keck says, “Grand View University is fortunate to have such an exceptionally accomplished faculty member and administrator. Dr. Williams has earned this appointment after more than two decades of innovation and strategic leadership. I look forward to working closely with her as we plan for Grand View’s bright future.”
Dr. Williams also serves as Grand View’s Accreditation Liaison Officer with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and she has contributed to every HLC self-study since joining GV. Patty’s service to Grand View has been incredible, and she was recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2008 and the Excellence in Advising Award in 2009.
Dr. Williams earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Iowa State University, her Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law and is a member of the Iowa Bar. She also has a Master of Arts in Accounting from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and passed the CPA.
