Grand View University Recognized as a 2022 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting
December 6, 2022
Grand View University has been recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) as a 2022 ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting. The ALL IN Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting recognizes colleges and universities for making intentional efforts to increase student voter participation.
Grand View joins a group of 394 colleges and universities recognized by ALL IN for completing these four actions:
“This fall we worked to increase the number of Grand View students registered to vote." says Heidi Pries, Director of Student Involvement and New Student Programs at Grand View. "The Women’s Empowerment Club assisted with voter registration events on campus. We also provided students with resources on learning how to request an absentee ballot, where to vote on election day and how to register to vote on election day.”
“The research is clear: colleges and universities that make intentional efforts to increase nonpartisan democratic engagement have higher campus voter registration and voter turnout rates. Despite ongoing obstacles, these campuses have remained dedicated in their commitment to ensuring that their students are informed and confident voters,” said Jennifer Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.
The Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting is part of ALL IN’s mission to advance voting efforts on college and university campuses across the country. This year’s honorees span 44 states and the District of Columbia and include a diverse group of institutions, including 94 Minority-Serving Institutions, 7 HBCUs, 63 at Hispanic-Serving Institutions and 68 community colleges.
