Michelle Book Elected to Grand View Board of Trustees

Michelle Book has joined the Grand View University Board of Trustees. Michelle is a lifelong Iowan from Jefferson. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting. Michelle earned Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Audit certifications starting her career in audit with Ernst & Young.

Michelle Book has been CEO of Food Bank of Iowa since 2016. She plans to retire at the end of 2024. Prior to joining Food Bank of Iowa, Michelle worked at MidAmerican Energy and held global business roles with DuPont Pioneer and John Deere Finance. Previously, she worked as a farmer, junior college instructor, and hospital controller.

Michelle has provided leadership on numerous community non-profit boards and today serves on Nationwide Insurance Board Council, Kennedy Center National Performing Arts Council, U.S. Bank Midwest Regional Advisory Council and Coffin Fine Arts Trust. She has extensive board governance experience.

Michelle lives in Des Moines and is the mother of two adult children who also reside in Des Moines. She enjoys spending time outdoors, creating in the kitchen and learning by reading. As she leaves the food bank, she hopes to find opportunities to continue to improve our shared human condition.
