Karima Koko: Serving the GV Community Through AmeriCorps
March 25, 2025
This year for AmeriCorps Week, we are excited to highlight the service of Karima Koko, our full-time AmeriCorps member at Grand View. Featured on Seed Coalition's website, Karima’s commitment to service is truly making a difference in our community.
AmeriCorps Week is a time to celebrate the service and dedication of AmeriCorps members across the country. Karima’s work exemplifies the heart of this week, and we are happy to recognize her and the valuable contributions she’s making both on and off campus.
“I serve with AmeriCorps State because I am passionate about supporting students in many aspects of their academic and personal lives," says Karima. "Whether it’s providing emotional support, helping them navigate their class schedules, or simply being a resource, I appreciate the opportunity to encourage student engagement and help them feel more connected to their campus community.”
In her service role, Karima also provides support at the campus food pantry and added that her AmeriCorps service has helped her grow personally and professionally, giving her a deeper understanding of service and community support. As Karima continues her journey with AmeriCorps, we look forward to seeing the lasting impact of her work!
