President Keck Selected for 2024 Convening for Pioneering Presidents

Dr. Rachelle Keck, Grand View President, has been selected as one of the participants of the Council of Independent Colleges’ (CIC) 2024 Convening for Pioneering Presidents and Board Chairs, generously supported by the Mellon Foundation. This convening will bring together pioneering presidents from across the country, along with their board chairs, for an intensive three-day event focused on supporting the success of these leaders and creating a roadmap for how future groundbreaking leaders can be supported in their work.

Marjorie Hass, President of CIC, says “Our call for participants was aimed at those presidents who have broken tradition or heralded a significant change in institutional leadership, and the selection committee found Dr. Keck's application to be especially compelling. The purpose of the convening is to nurture community and to identify practices that support success for pioneering presidents. After the convening, we will share our findings with CIC member institutions and with the broader higher education community.”

President Keck is excited, "I am always interested in learning from others and applying borrowed wisdom where I can as well as sharing wisdom where I can. Although I interact regularly with my local, regional, and statewide colleagues, a national conversation will be a delight and a privilege. Further, as we navigate into the unknown future of higher education, a pioneering spirit will serve presidents well, and this convening should certainly add to the vital resources that will be needed moving forward."

The convening will take place in Washington, DC, and programming will take place August 1 - August 3, 2024.
